Long regarded as a bastion of the free world, Superman has come to represent all that we hold dear: freedom, hope, and justice. He is a truly classic hero, his first published adventure dating back to 1938 in Action Comics #1. Though an alien, Kal-El quickly became synonymous with the American hero. He is an icon; he is the template from which many superheroes we know and love today have be based upon. Now, in a sleek and modern form, Superman joins the DC Comics Variant line. A striking figure, Superman's reimagined suit combines a muscular, organic body with an angular armor system. His House of El family shield is accurately recreated on his chest, and he includes an alternate angry face for action sequences. Also included is a comic book sound effect part and two capes. One, cloth with a wire for posing for neutral poses, the other, PVC formed into a wind-caught design for action sequences. Exquisitely painted detail highlights the metallic armor and brings out his muscular build, and a wide range of motion grants this figure a vast array of dynamic posing options.
